Bolivian Anaconda Eunectes beniensis, commonly known as the Bolivian anaconda or Beni anaconda, is a species of non-venomous, aquatic snake in the boa family (Boidae). It is endemic to the Beni wetlands in northern Bolivia and was only formally recognized as a distinct species in 2002. Closely related to the green anaconda (Eunectes murinus), the Bolivian anaconda occupies a narrow transitional zone within the Amazon Basin and exhibits physical traits that are intermediate between the green and yellow anacondas.
